Chi-Chen Lee is from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Her family moved to South Carolina in 2007. She will graduate in 2014 with a bachelor degree in Visual Arts from Clemson University. She is interested in graphic designs and digital product designs.
Artist statement
My works take a critical view of current life. Usually, I add a little humor into a serious topic. Some topic might be controversial in life, such as environmental issues, obesity problems, homosexuality and so on. When people talk about these problems, they tend to be emotional. I think it is not necessary to be sentimental to a particular topic. Sometime a little bit of humor might provide a new perspective to understand and solve these problems. That is I want to express a sense of humor in a serious topic. For my works, I gather all my information from websites, TV shows, movies, and life that goes on around me to assemble various viewpoints on these controversial problems.
